“ I've been dining at Kedai Makan Lee Kee Restaurant in Pontian since 2022, and it continues to impress with its consistency, charm, and heartwarming hospitality. Recently renovated, the restaurant is now clean, bright, and comfortable — a welcoming space that’s perfect for large tour groups, family gatherings, and private events. This is a family-run establishment with roots that trace back decades. The owner, who once worked in Singapore’s F&B scene back in the early 80s, brings with him a wealth of experience and a dedication to quality that shows in every dish served. The food here is definitely above average, with a wide variety of in-house specialties that set it apart from the typical Chinese eateries. Highlights include their Special Herbal Kampong Chicken (advance order recommended), crispy and flavorful suckling pig, and a solid lineup of fresh seafood dishes — all prepared with precision and care. What makes Lee Kee truly stand out is the sense of authenticity and pride that runs through the kitchen. Every dish reflects a commitment to traditional flavors, using quality ingredients without shortcuts. The service is warm and genuine, making you feel like a valued guest, not just another table. If you're in the Pontian area or planning a food stop during a JB road trip, Kedai Makan Lee Kee is well worth a visit. ”

“ Nice restaurant in a small town. Great food, good service and nice environment. The roasted pork is the highlight. Price is reasonable too although during CNY period. Highly recommended! ”

“ Came here on recommendation by a family member as the neigbouring restaurant was not taking in walk in customers due to a wedding function at night. Was skeptical at first, cos the place look run down at first sight. But the food was quite awesome and delicious. We had a cold plate dish which is reminiscing of the good old days, and long beans. We bought a fish for them to steamed and 3 crabs to be cooked as chilli sweet sauce plus 10 buns. The chef I must say is good, as the dishes was really good. The only small issue was the roasted suckling pig which was a tad too think which I think they purchase from a wholesaler rather than roasted by themselves. Overall experience good. And the price overall was cheap! ”

“ Fairly standard atmosphere for a restaurant. Food is tasty and well priced. I think the most special and tasty dish here is the fried popiah/ roll with banana and prawn filling. I think this one dish itself is a must try here. ”

“ Seafood hotpot was a must order item. We had a garoupa in seafood hot pot and the flavour from the fish is out of this world. The soup has a peppery base and with generous serving of prawns and sotong. The fish though big was not tough, very soft and smooth. Oyster egg is another must order dish. It is jot like the hawker with starchy texture and oyster is very fresh. All the dishes we ordered are highlit recommended from the plan tofu, veggie to seafood galore. ”

“ Good recommendation for group of friend or family that enjoy season. Having nice seafood meal in the spacious air con restaurant compared to others surrounding. Must try the baby oyster omelette. Price is not expensive. ”
